ACV + Acne = Clear Skin?

So, you’re probably wondering by the title, what in the world are you talking about? ACV? Acne? Clear Skin!? What do those have to do with one another?

Well, a few days ago my aunt came over, I wasn’t wearing any makeup, and she commented about something she was using to get rid of the fine lines on her face. She said this trick would also help with acne. I was intrigued of course, since I have daily acne breakouts.

Then she told me what it was.

Apple Cider Vinegar.

And it wasn’t just your regular, ACV, it was Raw and Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar with the ‘mother’. The stuff that smells like vomit. Sorry, but that is truly what it smells like. I’m being completely honest.

She told me that to get rid of my acne, all I needed to do was use a cotton ball and spread it where I was breaking out. I’ll be honest. I was very skeptical. I mean, apple cider vinegar on my FACE?! And she said, she was positive that I would see a big difference in JUST 2 days.

I brushed it off and didn’t think anything about it till the next day. After I had washed my face that morning, I had broken out really bad, and had a crazy amount of new pimples. So, that afternoon, I caved.

Trust me. After I smelled that stuff, I really wanted to back out. But, I was quite desperate for something to get rid of all my acne. I also have really annoying fine lines around my mouth from how I smile.

So I did it. I didn’t have cotton balls, so I just used a q-tip. I made sure to wash my face before hand, and then applied the ACV to my t-zone (forehead, nose, chin and area circling the mouth).

It stunk to high heaven, let me assure you of that. But I just stayed away from my family the rest of the evening, and went about my bedtime routine like normal.

I woke up the next morning, excited to see if it had worked. To my UTTER astonishment, it had! The redness on my forehead had decreased greatly, and the amount of blackheads on my chin and nose had halved!

I’ve been doing this the past 4 days. I haven’t had to wear makeup either of those days, so I’ve been using the ACV morning and evening. I make sure to wash my face first, but other than that it is really simple! And I literally noticed SUCH a difference! I haven’t had this clear of skin since I was like twelve!

If you have dry skin, I would recommend that you only do this a few times a week, and make sure that you moisturize your face regularly! I don’t have dry skin, mine is normally kind of oily, so I have no problem with it drying out my face. But other than that, all you need to do is wash your face, then using a q-tip or cotton ball rub the ACV onto your face wherever you are breaking out and/or have fine lines. If I put it on in the morning, I wash it off before I put more on that night. When I use it at night I will leave it on till the next morning. Make sure you don’t get it too close to your eyes, because it will sting. Badly.

I plan on doing this regularly now, and I would love to here your feedback if you tried this!

After using this for several weeks, I would recommend mixing it half and half with water in an old perfume bottle, and spritzing on before bed.
