my favorite movies of 2022 (pt 2)

Part 2 y’all! Here’s the next, and last, part of my favorite movies. Side note, movies in both parts 1 & 2 are mostly clean, family friendly movies, but some are obviously set to entertain older rather than younger folks. None of these are in a particular order, but all are special to me!

The Hunger Games (2012, 2013, 2014, & 2014)

Rating: PG-13

My Rating: 10/10

With four movies to date, the Hunger Games are awesome examples of how a well written book can be turned into an amazingly produced movie. In the Hunger Games’ case, all of the movies have come through a great success. I was given the ability to finally watch these at the beginning of this year, and I was happily thrilled with the outcomes. Full of lovable characters, plot and character development, and a thoroughly entertaining storyline!

P.S. Team Peeta all the way! If you’re team Gale, you had better have a good explanation!

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)

Rating: PG

My Rating: 9/10

Weird, hilarious, and left me wanting a second movie; so, a success in my books! This movie follows the adventures of different versions of spider-man, each with their unique stories and focuses. This movie had me almost crying, laughing waaaay too hard, and entirely happy. The music choices are catchy, Miles is a super likeable guy, and I will definitely watch the second movie after its release!

The Incredibles (2004)

Rating: PG

My Rating: 10/10

This movie was one that I quite literally grew up on. Considering it is almost two years older than I am, when that theme song comes on my mind is flooded with childhood nostalgia. Growing up in a conservative, Christian home, our movies were (rightly) limited, but this movie was our favorite on movie nights! I adore all the characters and their stories. I’ll not comment on Incredibles 2, that one you shall have to create your own opinion on…

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

Rating: PG-13

My Rating: 10/10

I literally just watched this last week, meaning that this is a very new addition to this list. But it deserves its place! I have adored Wolverine since my introduction to any form of Marvel cinema, and this movie just proved my adoration rightly focused. Great annimation, fantastic characters, and an emotionally prodding plot.

Zootopia (2016)

Rating: PG

My Rating: 9/10

We watched this movie in the theaters the week it came out, and I STILL remember the jump scare that had the whole Theater startled! A movie that I now adore, and watch for the laughs and smiles, and one my siblings love to watch as well! Judy and Nick are beyond adorable, and Nick is the animal version, imo, of Flynn Rider. Just think about it…

How to Train Your Dragon (2010)

Rating: PG

My Rating: 100/10

This movie… The movies… All three of them live up to all childish expectations anyone could ever have! It is terrible to say, but I would choose this movie, and it’s two predecessors, over just about anything else… One of the few series where they either stay the same amount of awesome as the first, or just get better and better!

Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)

Rating: PG-13

My Rating: 10/10

One of those movies that I love to watch randomly because of how awesome everything about it is. An awesome series, and The Hobbit is a great watch as well! I really recommend you read the books first, but the movies are still awesome in their cinematic way!

Big Hero 6 (2014)

Rating: PG

My Rating: 10/10

Adorable, an easy watch, and a movie that pulls at your heartstrings. Baymax and Fred are my all-time favorite characters, and all the characters have a special place in my heart. Also, you’re elite if you realized that Tuffnet and Fred have the same voice actor…

Kung Fu Panda (2008)

Rating: PG

My Rating: 9/10

Again, a movie I have grown up watching and loving, and one I’ll never grow tired of. Jack Black is hysterical, Po is adorably stupid but funny, and Tigress is my favorite role model. Definitely a movie worth watching, and though imo the series kinda degrades as it goes along, they all have their own place on the raking scale.

I hope y’all enjoyed! This was the second and last part, but I’ll miss researching all my favorite movies! I am leaving for vacation on the 3rd, so my comment/response responses could be varied, but I will post a vacation description as soon as we get back!

Love, Hannah

  1. This was so great! I also enjoyed the ones of these that I’ve watched. (I’m team Gale, but I do have a good excuse, so.) The Incredibles is my family’s ultimate movie night…when we were younger, we took turns picking movies, and every time it was my dad’s or brother’s turn, that’s what they’d choose. XD Zootopia and Big Hero 6 are great too! “Nick is the animal version of Flynn Rider.” I…completely agree with that, what an amazing point!

    1. Hey, Lily! I’m glad you enjoyed the post! I’d love to hear your point as to why you’re team Gale! And yesssss, I love Incredibles because of how much my Dad loved the movie 😂

  2. Tuffnut and Fred all the wayyyy. 😂 Another great post Hannah!!! I have not seen The Hunger Games so I am not any either side since I have no idea who you’re talking about. And I agree with HTTYD! They get better as the movies go on. The second one’s my favorite!

    1. Yessssssss Emily! A girl after my own heart 😂 Thank you so much! I totally get not watching Hunger Games, I literally watched them months ago 😂😅 And HTTYD is the pinnacle of children’s movies that teens should DEFINITELY watch!
